The problem
Many users do not know where to search for a right place for their big day. Users want to have a platform where they can see all sort of outdoor wedding venues, compare them before deciding which one to reserve. The goal of the project is to design a mobile app that provide an easy way to search and reserve an outdoor wedding venue.

Understanding the user
Summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. The project targets working adults who are looking for an outdoor wedding venue.
The initial assumption about outdoor wedding venue customers is confirmed by the interviewees. However, apart from expecting to read a detailed description of the venue with clear images of facilities, prices, menu, location, and calendar, the research also revealed that the majorities of the interviewees are busy and expected to have an instant assistant and have different purpose of using an outdoor wedding venue.
User pain points
- The description of wedding venues is too general, lacking some important information such as prices, facilities, capacity, backup plan, etc.
- Platforms for wedding venues are not equipped with assistive technologies
- Platforms for wedding venues do not provide live assistant
Persona
Linh is a busy working adult and a color blind who needs easy access to outdoor wedding venue options with live assistance to choose an ideal one for her wedding next year

What I learned
While designing the app, I realised that what I start at the beginning isn’t always the best one. Feedback from users really help me to design an app that meet the users’ needs
